School Counseling Program Vision Statement

Dover High School believes a developmental and sequential school counseling program is an essential and integral part of the overall education process. We believe that providing educational excellence for a changing tomorrow and empowering students with the academic, social/emotional, and career objectives will produce citizens who are ready to make an impact on a global community.

School Counseling Program Mission Statement

The mission of the DHS Counseling Program is to provide students with a comprehensive program that is aligned with the ASCA National Standards, centered on leadership development and academic excellence. In partnership with students, teachers, interventionists, administration, parents and the community, the school counselors will empower all students to be RESPECTFUL and accepting to a growing multicultural population with diverse needs, hold classmates and stakeholders’ ACCOUNTABLE to ensure all students are in a safe welcoming environment. Students will be college and career ready to become PRODUCTIVE citizens that are academically, socially and professionally prepared to make an impact on a global society.

School Counseling Program Goals

The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance, behavior and/or school safety goals this year. Details of activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum, small-group and closing-the-gap action plans.
