Program Information
Marketing Pathway

Students choosing this pathway will learn extensive marketing concepts, functions, and theories.  Students will design advertisements, products, and window displays.  Students will learn how companies utilize sales strategies and techniques to influence customer buying.

Academy of Finance Pathway 
The National Academy Foundation’s (NAF) Academy of Finance (AOF) program of study is a three (3) course Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that engages students with the world of financial services by focusing on banking and credit, financial planning, accounting, and insurance.  Students gain career knowledge through a series of work-based learning activities that are conducted in school and outside of the classroom, and a 120-hour paid summer internship.  Completion of the program is validated with a NAFTrack Certification, NAF’s student certification assessment system.  AOF courses introduce students to a wide array of careers such as personal financial advisor, tax preparation specialist, accountant, financial analyst, loan officer, account representative, insurance agent, and claims representative.

Program Information:
 
Students choosing this pathway will explore the techniques and skills used in the food industry.  Students will study nutrition, practice safety and sanitation procedures, and demonstrate the proper use of cooking equipment.  A laboratory equipped with kitchen appliances and kitchen tools will be used to prepare meals and complete classroom projects.

Program Information:

Nursing and Patient Care Education Pathway will introduce students to the fundamentals of working in the health care industry.  Students will learn the function and interrelationships of body systems and medical terminology.  Students will acquire knowledge and skills to function effectively in a lab and clinical environments as a certified nursing assistant.  Students in this pathway will be required to participate in a clinical experience and take the Delaware CNA certification test.  Students are required to successfully complete a criminal background check & pass a random drug screening.

Communications Technology

Communication Technology Pathway will allow students the opportunity to explore and understand the creativity as well as technical skills in the area of graphic communication.  Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to create professional level elements and demonstrate and apply technical skills in multiple media forms of communications.  The pathway provides knowledge to interact with a client properly, and how to use Adobe products in order to create digital media.

Program Information

Students choosing this pathway will explore principles and techniques of drafting.  Students will do free-hand sketching and progress to Rivet.  Students will create three-dimensional details related to industry.  Advanced manual drafting assignments will be required as well as construction drawing interpretation, material identification and use.  Student will complete special projects and visit local businesses.

Program Information:
The HVACR pathway will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to repair and maintain a variety of cooling and heating systems.  Students will explore the principles of sheet metal layout and processes, basic electricity, proper use of hand tools and construction safety.  Students completing the HVACR/Sheet Metal pathway will be eligible to enroll in an HVAC related training apprenticeship after graduation.

Program Information:
Students who choose the Manufacturing  Logistics Technician program of study is a two (2) year; four (4) semester Career & Technical Education (CTE) instructional program that engages students in open-ended problem solving where they learn and apply manufacturing processes and use modern, industry-leading technology and software.  The program prepares students for further education and careers in manufacturing and logistics.  The CTE program consists of four courses that are completed on the campus of the Delaware Technical Community College.

ECE and the K-12 Teacher Academies 

The Delaware K-12 Teacher Academy program of study is a three (3) course Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that engages students in developing a realistic understanding of teaching while exploring the importance and impact of teachers.  Students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to sustain their interest in the profession and cultivate the skills needed to be successful educators, thus creating a pipeline of high-quality students transitioning to the teaching profession.  Students will understand the rigors of a career in education and participate in classroom and field experiences relevant to pursuing a degree in education.   The program prepares students for a variety of careers in education such as elementary teacher, secondary teacher, paraprofessional, and special education teacher.
