SAT, ACT, and ASVAB Information
Both the SAT (this includes both SAT and all PSAT assessments) and ACT assessments are designed to measure college and career readiness of high school students which many college use to make decisions about college admissions and scholarships. While each test is different and score differently they specifically measure student skills in the areas of math, English, reading, and writing.
Dover High School offers the following exams to students in 9 - 11th grades during the school day at no charge to students: PSAT 9, PSAT 10 and SAT. The dates of the exams vary from year to year but will be announced in advance.
DHS also offers the SAT and ACT on weekends throughout the school year. Please contact the guidance department for specific dates. There are fees associated with these tests.
Students are encouraged to begin taking practice tests and signing up for Khan Academy as soon as possible. The following link will be useful to finding more information about each test and Khan Academy.
Students with interest in joining the military are encouraged to also take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) assessment which is offered twice during the school year. For more information please see your school counselor.
