School Counseling Program
Mission Statement

 The mission of the DHS Counseling Program is to provide students with a comprehensive program that is aligned with the ASCA National Standards, centered on leadership development and academic excellence. In partnership with students, teachers, interventionists, administration, parents and the community, the school counselors will empower all students to be RESPECTFUL and accepting to a growing multicultural population with diverse needs, hold classmates and stakeholders’ ACCOUNTABLE to ensure all students are in a safe welcoming environment. Students will be college and career ready to become PRODUCTIVE citizens that are academically, socially and professionally prepared to make an impact on a global society.

Our students’ needs are met for the whole child. Our students are college and career ready. Our students possess the skills to navigate this complex world. They are equipped with the academic and vocational knowledge to achieve their postsecondary goals and are empowered with skills of empathy, compassion, and self-worth to positively impact a diverse community.
