Academy of the Arts Elective- Integrated Art History
An interactive approach to the visual and performing arts as part of world culture and history, and its relationship to the individual student and artist. In the study of different historical periods, the student artist (singer, dancer, musician, visual artist, actor) will deepen their understanding of their art form and their relationship to the society they live in. The Class will foster an understanding that all art forms are similar in many ways which will ease the way to multi–disciplinary creative project collaborations.

Academy of the Arts Elective- AP College Board Class
The AP Capstone program consists of two courses--AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses use an interdisciplinary approach to develop the critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills students need for college-level work. Unlike other AP classes, AP Capstone is NOT content based. It is a process driven exploration into a variety of topics in multiple disciplines. Students may choose to explore topics of interest related to other AP courses they’re taking. Both courses guide students through completing a research project, writing an academic paper, and making a media presentation on their project. AP Seminar presents the opportunity to work as an individual researcher and also with a team. For students who are in a career pathway in the Academy of the Arts, this course is an excellent opportunity to explore the arts with different topics and issues that are relevant to the student.
