Re: Parking on Campus 2018-2019

Welcome Back Senators, Parking permits will go on sale in August of 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year. Parking on the campus of Dover High School is a privilege not a right. We have a limited number of parking spaces; therefore, they will be sold on a first come first serve basis. There is no guarantee that your student will receive a parking space for the school year. Students will park in the designated area of the student parking lot at the school. If a student parks anywhere other than their designated lot on campus, their vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense. There are no warnings. Students will be issued a general DHS colored parking sticker which must be displayed at all times. Parking permits will cost $20.00 for the school year. If students lose their parking privilege for any reason, money will not be refunded. The Capital School District is not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle or for any damage to the vehicle while parked on school property.

Registration for parking will open on August 20, 2018. Sales will continue until all spaces are sold out. Please bring copies of the following items along with your parent/guardian signed application: student’s valid driver’s license, registration of the vehicle that will be parked at the school along with current proof of insurance. Please Note: we cannot sell parking permits to students that are currently on their six months driving probation period.

In order to qualify for a purchase of a DHS hangtag, you must not have any outstanding obligations at the time of purchase and must comply with CSD Attendance policy and Discipline guidelines at all times.

Rules and Regulations for Parking- A parking permit must be purchased from the office A117. If lost or stolen, students cannot purchase another for the current school year. Request for parking application must be signed by your parent/guardian. Parking permit must be displayed at all times. No selling or renting permits to other students. Students will obey the speed limit of 15 miles per hour on campus and will not drive recklessly. Students will not leave campus without permission. Students must arrive to school on time each day. All vehicles must depart from the DHS parking lot at the end of the school day. Offenses committed by students which are determined by administration as inappropriate, may forfeit parking privileges. Students who are suspended OSS for 5 or more days will lose parking privileges. Poor attendance and/or tardiness to school may result in loss of parking privileges.

After parking spaces are sold out; students may stop by the Intervention office, A117 or call 302-241-2403, to place their name on the waiting list.
